440 Km in 24 Hours!
Alan’s first day set off with a dramatic start at the Grand Palace in Bangkok. Swarmed by camera crews and press Alan was shuffled from spot to spot doing interviews after interviews with the local pap. One would think there was a celebrity doing the challenge and not a sports man. Right To Play one of Alan’s chosen charities were also at the launch to wish him luck on his journey.
After a fan fare of cheers and cries the attempt began at 5:50pm 5:30 pm with a police escort who zoomed Alan and the team out of Bangkok. At 11.30pm and 201.8km later we arrived at our first destination, just in time to wish Alan Happy Birthday which is on the 1st of April.
The following day Alan raced down towards Chumphon and completed a staggering 440km within 24 hours.
With emails flooding in and twitter message updates the one comment which was the highlight of the day was from Alan’s son. When hearing Daniel’s kind words, Alan jumped for joy and turned into a Maserati (NOT a Milani !). Alan replied ‘Tell my son we can do it-i just need your support love from dad’.
Alan and his team would like to thank all his supporters, sponsors, friends and family who have helped him start this amazing journey.

Hi Kidsgrove wheelers,
I started out as a time triallist with the VC HALTON and the great John Geddes. Two nightmare days in Malaysia, with searing heat and mountains. I know what the 24 entails, rode it once. Thanks for your kind encouragement!
