A 7 am start and five hours later Alan and the team stopped for the regular pit stop. Thailand has so many wonderful food stalls especially on the motorway, serving up tasty treats such as spicy omelets and Frog Pad Ka Pow (honestly).

Unlike road stops in Europe, which are typically large, concrete, bland, industrious monstrosities, Thailand’s road stops are mostly simple, but cosy wooden houses with a kitchen and a family. Upon arrival Alan and the team were greeted with warm smiles, and refreshing drinks and got instantly recognized due to the mass media coverage. We where told “put your wallets away this meal is on us as you ride for our King”.
To experience such true hospitality and morality from selfless people as such are rare encounters in our world today. We thank them for there kindness and will never forget that this wonderful country has some of the most kind hearted people in South East Asia.
We set off for another 90 km to discover yet another culinary paradise, which was recommended by the passing policeman who was our witness for the day. This time our cook was a large full of life character who was very happy to have a D listed celebrity in his restaurant ( sorry Alan ). The chef then guided us to his livestock of produce which of course was frogs, and gave them a little tickkle.
